Work Hard, Play Hard with Honda PioneerRising to the Challenge. Finding new adventures – it’s what off-roading on a Honda side-by-side is all about. |
Powerful PerformanceWe’ve given the engine huge power in our entire Pioneer 1000 lineup, especially in the midrange and top end. And thanks to the lower gear ratios, you’ll feel quick acceleration and stellar overall performance. Using the same Unicam® cylinder head design found in our motocross bikes, the class-leading 999cc liquid-cooled inline twin is compact, while delivering the kind of horsepower and torque you’d expect from a flagship model. |
Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT)Drive the way you want, with the industry’s first and only six-speed Dual Clutch Transmission. Choose between manual mode or fully automatic. Plus, the addition of Sport Mode increases the fun, shifting at higher RPM for a spirited, full-performance driving experience. |
Advanced Transmission LogicThe brain of the DCT, Advanced Transmission Logic, senses how you drive and adapts. Relaxed drivers get earlier shifts for a quieter ride at lower engine speeds. Sportier drivers will hold each gear longer for higher RPM shifts. And when going downhill, you get true engine braking. Now that’s a smart transmission. |
Paddle ShiftingSteering column-mounted paddle shifters add a serious dose of performance in every drive. In Manual mode, they let you shift without ever taking your hands off the wheel, and in Automatic mode, they let you override the current gear with a quick up or downshift, holding that gear for several seconds before returning to Automatic mode. |
Tackle Any TerrainVenturing over really tricky, rocky terrain, hauling a big load down a steep hill, or need some real hill-climbing ability? The high/low-range sub transmission provides a full 42-percent gear reduction when you switch to the low range. |
Clever ControlsQuickly and easily choose, via a dash-mounted lever, from 2WD, 4WD, 4WD with differentials locked for the toughest conditions, or Turf mode; perfect for sensitive surfaces like grass fields. |
Electric Power SteeringEvery Pioneer 1000 EPS system features a brushless motor integrated with the ECU. The return-to-center function makes it intuitive on straight trails, and the whole system feels responsive and linear. |
Independent Front and Rear SuspensionDual A-arm suspension gives you 10.5 inches of travel in the front, and 10-inches of travel in the rear. Pair that with stellar ground clearance, and you maximize available traction and superior comfort maneuvering over terrain other side-by-sides would shy away from. |
Superior Stopping PowerWith a side-by-side this powerful and capable, you need brakes that are up to the job, too. Honda’s extensive automotive experience means you know the all-wheel disc brake system is up to the task. |
Roomy SeatingThe three-person Pioneer 1000 EPS features a spacious bench – the middle seat is positioned up and forward to maximize comfort and room. |
Powerful TowingYou can load a full half-ton (1,000 lb.) into the bed. And when it’s time to unload, the bed’s hydraulic-assisted tilting feature makes dumping firewood, gravel, feed or other items easy. And because it’s able to tow a full ton (more than 2,500 lb.) – with a hitch mount – the Pioneer 1000s can take on big jobs that otherwise would require a tractor or a truck. |
Secure DesignThe Occupant Protection Structure uses large-diameter tubing and includes integrated handholds, recessed top tubes and a more spacious structure to enhance protection. Hard doors and roll-up side nets provide a secure feel and keep mud and debris out of the cabin, while automotive-style three-point belts with an Emergency Locking Retractor mechanism help keep everyone secure. |
LCD Instrument DisplayThe instrument display is easy to read, with big, bright graphics. The display includes a clutch indicator and a battery-voltage readout too, in addition to speed, fuel level, RPM, transmission mode, water temperature, trip information and more. |
Pre-wired for AccessoriesWe’ve pre-wired all Pioneer 1000 models for accessory switches, so you don’t have to run a lot of extra wiring. For things like a winch alone, it slashes installation time as well as making the installation easier and cleaner. We’ve even included an extra, integrated grounding terminal. |
