ENGINE

• 889 cc CP3 Engine    
  • The 889 cc liquid-cooled 3-cylinder produces high-torque out of a lightweight package to produce a powerful yet playful MT that emits a beautiful sound to enhance the feeling of acceleration thanks to its tuned intake and exhaust. 
• Yamaha Chip Control Throttle (YCC-T).
  • YCC-T electronically controls throttle valves for outstanding throttle response & controllability
  • YCC-T system provides precise control of intake air volume for a smoother torque curve
  • ECU that controls YCC-T is capable of responding to changes at a speed of 1000th of a second
• Traction control system with 2 modes plus off.
  • mode 1 provides mid-level intervention (allows some wheel spin)

Lightweight CF Aluminium Die-cast Frame    
A modern take on the Deltabox layout—featuring a higher level of chassis stiffness for improved rider feedback, stability and an increased dynamic riding window.

Premium KYB & Öhlins Suspension   
A fully adjustable KYB front fork features a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating that ensures ultra-smooth and responsive suspension action, plus low- and high-speed compression damping adjusters for a high level of tuning accuracy. The premium-spec rear suspension is fully adjustable and utilizes an Öhlins rear shock absorber to bring supersport handling to the naked sport class.

Lightweight SpinForged Wheels    
SpinForged wheels give outstanding chassis agility by decreasing the moment of inertia and enhancing suspension performance.

5” TFT full colour screen

Horizontally mounted 5” TFT full colour screen offers the rider an attractive new interface with the choice of four different themes to suit a range of different riding experiences. 

Smartphone connectivity and navigation

For an enriched riding experience, connectivity comes as standard on the MT-09 via a built-in Communication Control Unit (CCU) meaning riders can stay connected while riding by linking their smartphone with their machine via the free  Y-Connect app.

Intuitive new switchgear

Integrated handlebar switch assemblies enable the rider to operate the wider range of functions of the MT-09, including smartphone connectivity, navigation and riding modes as well as navigating the further menu options.

Next-generation design and styling    
Next-generation design leads the MT family line into the new decade. Minimalist styling showcases the frame and structural components.

Six-axis IMU with full suite of lean sensitive rider aids now including Back Slip Regulator (BSR)

Three integrated riding modes, ‘Sport’, ‘Street’ and ‘Rain’ featuring factory settings with different intervention levels to suit various conditions are complemented by the option to pre-set two Custom modes.

Compact, bifunctional LED headlight    
The single LED headlight produces a powerful beam with an excellent  spread featuring soft edges while giving the MT-09 a truly distinctive next-generation face, and lateral LED position lights project a signature Y-shape that is matched by the LED taillight.

Quick Shift System (QSS)    
The up and down Quick Shifter System enhances the sport riding experience by enabling super-fast upshifts for outstanding acceleration. The downshift function allows smoother shifting to maintain chassis stability even when cornering, to give a more controlled feel when decelerating.
