Fast Fun

Based on the race-winning YZ250F that features Yamaha’s revolutionary front-intake, rear-exhaust, liquid-cooled, DOHC 4-stroke power plant with an added sixth gear, wide ratio transmission and a range of enduro specific upgrades, the WR250F is super fast and fun.

High Performance Four-Stroke Engine

The compact, powerful WR250F engine includes all the same race-developed technologies of the race-winning YZ250F, tuned for cross country performance. Revised airflow system, new camchain and shorter muffler combine to increase linear power across the entire rev range.

Precisely Tuned Chassis

The highly developed aluminum bilateral beam frame features precisely tuned flex characteristics for competition-ready performance. The forged section at the swingarm pivot, and improved engine mounting brackets provide a nimble lightweight feeling in tight, technical terrain while still providing control in fast sections. Yamaha’s class-leading KYB® suspension has been revised to lower centre of gravity for a planted feel and increased abiliy in tight turns.

High-Spec Braking Components

The high performance braking system provides exceptional stopping power and control through high-spec componentry, including a rigid front caliper with larger diameter pistons, aggressive brake pad compound and a 270mm front rotor. The rear brake gets a lightweight rear caliper and hanger with a 240mm rear rotor to reduce unsprung weight.

Sharp, Durable Graphics Scheme

Sharp competition-inspired graphics scheme highlights the YZ's unmatched racing pedigree. Premium Yamaha graphics are embedded to provide excellent durability and scratch resistance. Dark radiator louvres add to the aggressive look.

Enduro Competition Features

With a new electric starting system, rugged plastic skid plate, and 18-inch rear wheel, the WR250F is ready for fast fun.

ENGINE

Competition-Bred Engine Performance

The revolutionary front-intake/rear-exhaust, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, four-stroke engine has been developed for enduro competition.A new air induction system works with a high compression piston for a wide and linear spread of power.

Forward-Thinking Engine Design

Reversing the cylinder head while placing the intake forward and the exhaust to the rear allow for a straight shot, downdraft intake and straight exhaust port for maximised engine performance.

Innovative Yamaha Power Tuner App

The new free-of-charge Yamaha Power Tuner App allows you to connect to the WR250F via your smartphone. The app allows you to easily adjust the three stage Traction Control, as well as view the Lap Timer, record race log information, monitor a range of data such as maintenance and system diagnosis, the engine run time and more. 

Six-Speed Gearbox

A six-speed transmission is used to ensure the right gear is available for the wide variety of terrain found in fast trail riding and enduro racing. Transmission features durable gears and a heavy-duty, large-diameter clutch. 

Mass-Centralised Electric Starter System

The WR250F features a new compact, centrally-mounted electric starter system to minimise restart delays and add convenience. .

CHASSIS/SUSPENSION

Advanced Bilateral Aluminum Frame

An all-aluminum bilateral beam frame taken from the class-leading YZ250F provides strength, lightness and durability for fast trail riding and comes standard with a rugged plastic skid plate.

Class-Leading Suspension

Industry-leading Speed Sensitive System KYB® fully adjustable spring-type forks and a KYB® rear shock have been thoroughly tested and tuned specifically for enduro and contribute to a lower centre of gravity.
