key features
KEY FEATURES
- The GP HO is powered by Yamaha's 1898cc, high output engine which is the largest displacement engine in the PWC industry. This new generation of power balances high performance, economy, environmental awareness and the reliability Yamaha is famous for.
-
Wet Sump Lubrication: Uses two engine oil pumps to deliver lubricated oil to each moving part with water-jacketed sump and oil backflow protection.
- Throttle by wire reverse system controls RPM in reverse gear for maximum thrust efficiency Specially Designed, One-piece Cylinder and Crankcase Assembly: Provides tremendous engine rigidity that's lighter and stiffer than two-piece designs.
- Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI): Four electronically controlled fuel injectors, throttle position sensor (TPS) and intake air pressure and air temperature sensors supply the optimum air/fuel mixture. The results are a smooth, high power output with low fuel consumption and low exhaust emissions.
- Specially Designed, One-piece Cylinder and Crankcase Assembly: Provides tremendous engine rigidity that's lighter and stiffer than two-piece designs.

Features & Benefits
THE POWERPLANT -
The GP HO is powered by Yamaha's 1898cc, high output engine which balances high performance, economy, environmental awareness and the reliability Yamaha is famous for.
-
Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI): Advanced multi-point fuel injection system utilizing a single electronically controlled throttle body and multiple reliable sensors working in armory for optimum air/fuel mixture under any condition. The result is a smooth, high power output with low fuel consumption and low exhaust emissions.
-
Throttle by wire reverse system controls RPM in reverse gear for maximum thrust efficiency
-
Specially Designed, One-piece Cylinder and Crankcase Assembly: Provides tremendous engine rigidity that's lighter and stiffer than two-piece designs.
-
Slant Detection Switch: Electronic switch stops engine and oil pumps immediately if watercraft becomes overturned, protecting motor from unwanted water ingestion.
-
SAWS (Scavenger Assist Wet Sump): Equipped with a high-performance, compact gas-liquid separator, this engine uses Yamaha's unique ultra compact lubrication system and the oil pan structure.
-
Engine Management System: An integrated, computerized management system that controls and adjusts such functions as ignition timing, fuel injection mapping, engine diagnostics and OTS. The OTS function of Y.E.M.S. activates when the operator releases the throttle lever and attempts to steer the watercraft. This assists the operator in turning while the watercraft is decelerating.
-
Thermostatic and Pressure Controlled Cooling System: Water flow through the engine is controlled by a thermostat and pressure system and is maintained by a pressure control valve.
-
Corrosion Protection System: Sacrificial zinc anodes protect the engine from harmful galvanic corrosion. Stainless steel fasteners (nuts, bolts, hardware) provide a long service life.
-
Electronically Controlled, Variable Ignition Timing: For exact ignition advance control at all throttle positions and RPMs.
|
THE JET PUMP PROPULSION SYSTEM -
RiDE (Reverse with Intuitive Deceleration Electronics) - The world's first dual handlebar throttle control system is easy and intuitive. Pull the right lever to go forward, and the left lever for reverse. Pull them both, or in any combination, and the system reacts with precise control. Benefits include better handling, smooth deceleration and more control while turning.
-
155mm hyper-flow jet pump propulsion system with three-blade stainless steel impeller: Designed to maximize water flow for high performance, the GP HO's jet pump has been upgraded for 2021 to allow less turbulent water to flow through the jet pump. The result is better acceleration and less cavitation in choppy water conditions. The GP HO pump configuration provides excellent hook-up and quick acceleration.
-
The race-inspired ride plate and intake grate: Keep riders glued to the water, even at top speed. The dynamic shape of these items directs water flow into the pump for better thrust, performance and hook up.
-
Stainless Steel Impeller Housing Liner: For high durability, the liner maintains accurate clearance tolerances between the impeller and the housing.
-
Pumps are Manufactured with YDC30: A combination of zinc and copper alloys, developed by Yamaha marine engineers, that offers excellent corrosion protection.
|
HULL AND DECK -
The GP HO features Yamaha's second-generation NanoXel2 Hull and Deck. The result is a state of the art watercraft that is significantly lighter, making it quick and nimble, but with balance and manoeuvrability that truly connects the driver to the machine.
-
A redesigned hull liner moves the fuel tank 80mm towards the stern and 15mm lower in the hull. By repositioning the weight of the fuel tank, the craft’s new centre of gravity enhances the GPs’ nimble handling and agility.
-
Progressive, Stepper Draft V-Hull with Integrated Bow Spray Guard: Provides excellent manoeuvrability, handling and comfort.
-
Sponson Design: Provides added straight-line comfort and an improved two-up and three-up riding experience.
|
ADDITIONAL FEATURES: -
4.3-inch Connext® Helm Control with Colour LCD Display: The GP Series now features modern dash instrumentation, including Yamaha’s 4.3-inch Connext Helm Control with a multi-colour LCD display. A touchpad control mounted next to the steering column provides convenient access to the Connext system’s many functions.
-
Deck Design with Enhanced Rider Ergonomics : With deeper, wider, self-draining footwells and a new seat profile that is 1.5 inches narrower, this new seat design improves knee grip and overall comfort, especially for smaller sized riders.
-
Auto Trim Feature with Cornering Control and Launch Control: Auto Trim works independently from the electric trim control on the handlebars. When engaged, Cornering Control automatically shifts the trim into the bow down position when decelerating for tighter cornering and a racy feel. Launch Control is different in that it automatically shifts the trim down to prevent bow rise when accelerating quickly.
-
Multi-mount System: The GP HO is compatible with an innovative new multi-mount system that allows riders to personalize their ride with accessories like speakers, GPS systems, cameras and more. *Accessories sold separately*
-
107.6 Litres of Total Storage: At the bow, the storage compartment opening is expanding for easier access with a dedicated area for Yamaha’s innovative accessory cooler bag. It also features an upgraded, durable design with high-strength plastic hinge and damper. And for those riders who need even more storage space, the storage capacity under the seat is larger and comes with a water-resistant box for clothing and valuables that need to stay dry.
-
Yamaha's Trademarked Visibility Spout®: A waterspout from the rear of the craft that improves the watercraft's conspicuity.
